Substance Abuse Recovery Programme
A major issue driving poverty and the spread of HIV in Cape Town is substance abuse. Using a three-phase model we seek to treat adults struggling with chemical dependencies. As a non-residential outpatient programme, clients attend the programme daily and return to their respective communities to put into practice the skills they have learned. We firmly believe that Christ is the single most transformative power in helping individuals turn their lives around. Formal lectures, gender-specific groups, individual counselling, assisting with chores and interactive games, all with a therapeutic intention to renew mindsets and instil positive recovery life skills in our clients. Female admissions have shown an upward trend, and we have gained the reputation as the programme of choice for females seeking treatment. Clients are welcome to join the programme at any time, they just need to show up.
