First 1000 Days

First 1000 Days | Achieving the Vision

Acknowledging that life begins in the womb we seek to reach pregnant women with the message of hope that Jesus brings no matter how the baby was conceived. Furthermore, we seek to equip the mother with practical assistance and support but also more importantly a Biblical foundation on which to help her child. The first 1000 days facilitators are both encouraged and instructed to pray with clients during their visits, and uncover any spiritual needs they may have. Additionally, they show Christ’s love through the work they do and strengthen the team of carers in morning devotions each day.

Why Do We Serve?

To teach/train women in child health issues and life skills based on Biblical values and morals, in addition to counselling and supporting them, with the long term vision of seeing a changed and healthier community.

Who Do We Serve?

Pregnant women and mothers with children up to the age of 2. Clients are identified by staff in the community or the local clinics, some are visited in the False Bay hospital by partner organisations, while others are given a formal reference from a doctor or clinic.
