Living Hope can now count itself among the accredited training providers in the Western Cape. Living Hope has received the final stamp of approval from the Services SETA for accreditation of the Way To Work course. This 9-day course teaches the soft skills needed for employment such as work ethic, time management, integrity, communication and more and has been a long-standing programme within Living Hope.

Programme Coordinator, Nathan Panti, shared that becoming an accredited training provider gives Living Hope an edge over other training organisations offering this type of training. “This accreditation certifies that we have a high quality training that meets the guidelines of the Services SETA. Not all training providers in this field are accredited so this gives us an advantage in being attractive to job seekers looking for skills, companies wanting to upskill their staff, and helps us in applying for tenders from the city to provide training.”

The original material was created for training the unemployed in soft skills and has since found a market among employers looking to increase the skills of their staff. What this means for Living Hope is that Way To Work can now be offered in multiple versions both as a resource for the community and an income-generating project as businesses are willing to pay for high quality training, explained Panti. The corporate version piloted with two trainings for the agricultural testing company, Bemlab.

“The opportunities for this programme to expand are limitless,” Panti said. “We are excited to see more people being trained in skills that will benefit them not only at work, but in all areas of life.”

To find out when the next Way To Work course will be held or to arrange a training for your company please call Nathan Panti, Programme Coordinator, at 021 784 2838.

What an incredibly exciting time it is at Living Hope right now! As you probably are aware in 2013 we were blessed with the opportunity to acquire 19 acres of undeveloped land that is adjacent to the main Capri campus. Through God’s provision of generous partners we were able to not only procure the land, but also have resources available to begin prep work on it.

As January brought us a new year it also brought us the start of this exciting process. We are pleased to share with you that work is underway and earth is being moved as we begin this journey and opportunity before us. We thank you for all your prayers and ask that you continue to join us in prayer as we discern how to best use this land in reaching people for Christ, bringing hope and breaking despair of poverty and disease.
